Aaplog Kolkata se itna door sirf mujhse milne aye hai?”
Do you know what it feels like to be called by the most celebrated star of not only our, but also the generation before ours, for a forty minute chat in his house?
This like-minded young group of people from Kolkata when invited to Jalsa, not only represented Calcutta but each and every school and college and to be precise the entire youth of Calcutta. It was a moment when he said,
said with a grin on his face.
The forever angry young man, welcomed Shinjan, Tintin, Adrija and Kanishka with warmth and grace, heard about the event, shared inspirational words out of his experience, blessed them and showed his immense interest to come down to Kolkata for the event. He wants to be back to the city where it all started. It was for the reminiscence of his younger days, that he gave them more than 40 minutes for a conversation from his extremely busy schedule.
(He once again proved that age is just a number, besides his poor health conditions he is the busiest actor of the industry.)
After a successful Chapter 1, Calcutta Youth Meet by Script Productions is back again for the second time. The theme of their first edition was celebrating 50 years of Feluda. The cast and crew of Feluda team, Mr. Sandip Ray, Mr. Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Mr.Chandranath Chatterjee, Dr.B.D. Mukherjee, Mr.Debasis Mukjerjee and alike, were present on the day of the event for a panel discussion and also judged few of the events. It was a moment of success for not only the team but the participants too, when the event was declared a success by the panel of chief guests. The guests not only illuminated the event, but urged the participants to deliver their best, everytime. With the resonating sounds of the jam-packed Kala Mandir, the participants had a gala time in CYM1.
It was tough for them to come up with the second edition, because topping the first year was a mammoth of a task, but they couldn’t keep themselves off it. With even bigger and greater goals to achieve this year, the theme for this year will be Amitabh Bachchan’s connection with Satyajit Ray and their contribution to Indian Cinema alongwith a special tribute to Shri Amitabh Bachchan completing his 75 years.
Yes, the Angry young man and Script shared a few minutes and boy, was it some time well spent. A lifetime experience. The team had the image of not only Calcutta, but also, every other school and colleges who participated and also did not participate in CYM1. They had the responsibility to impress Him, and they did it in the best way possible.
Calcutta Youth Meet is back, with the Chapter 2 edition.
It will be bigger, better, but one thing which will remain the same is that, this event has, is and will always be, of the youth, for the youth and by the youth. So come down and witness your friends acing the scene both on and offstage this summer.
