Anjana Dutt Launches New Book “My Family, Leopards, and My Litchi Tree” 

Kolkata, 12th July, 2024: Calcutta-based writer and multi-talented artist Anjana Dutt is set to release her highly anticipated new book , ‘My Family, Leopards and My Litchi Tree’. The book launch was graced by veteran actor Ms Moon Moon Sen Dev Varma, who has penned the introduction. The foreword is written by esteemed Parliamentarian and author Mr Derek O’Brien, who has shared the same spirit of Anjana’s  nostalgic journey.

The event was  an unforgettable evening with excerpts from the book read by the acclaimed theatre personality Sumit Lai Roy, bringing the evocative memories and vivid imagery of Anjana Dutt’s childhood to life.

Anjana Dutt, a celebrated figure in the fields of graphic design, filmmaking, interior design, and photography, has spent 25 years in the advertising industry, earning numerous accolades for her creativity and innovation. As a published poet and pianist, her artistic talents are as diverse as they are profound. Last year, Anjana wrote the biography of renowned business leader Mr Madan Mohanka ‘ I Did What I Had To Do’ which was launched by Mr Narayana Murthy. Now, she adds another feather to her cap with the release of this memoir.

My Family, Leopards and My Litchi Tree takes readers on a heartfelt journey back in time, to an era without mobile phones, capturing the essence of her childhood spent in Howrah, Calcutta, Ranchi, Hazaribagh, and Dehradun. Through vivid storytelling and nostalgic reminiscences, Anjana Dutt shares her precious memories with her brother, parents and grandparents, painting a rich tapestry of a bygone era. Each story is accompanied by an illustration capturing the essence of the episode making thus book one of its kind.

At the unveiling event, which was attended by a large and enthusiastic audience, Moon Moon Sen Dev Varma praised the book, saying, “Anjana’s memoir is a beautiful ode to her childhood.
