“Enhanced No-Parking Signage Coming to Mullick Bazar: Police Takes Action”

KOLKATA: The city traffic police on Tuesday said they will install fresh no-parking sign boards along the eastern flank of AJC Bose Road at Mullick Bazar after receiving complaints from traders that lack of adequate signage on the stretch would encourage parking and encroachment after the current vigil slackens. Absence of any no-parking signs at Mullick Bazar had been cited as one of the reasons for illegal parking on either flanks of AJC Bose Road. Following the Calcutta High Court order on removal of encroachments, KMC and police had conducted a drive. Thereafter, Kolkata Police had notified the eastern flank of AJC Bose Road alongside the Lower Circular Road cemetery as no-parking zone, along with the western flank that it claimed was already so. However, lack of no-parking sign boards meant motorists were unaware of the prohibition.
