Mamata Banerjee Questions CBI Probe in Odisha Train Accident Case

Days after the disastrous triple train collision in Odisha’s Balasore, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on June 08 launched a scathing attack at the Centre. She questioned that why has the Odisha train accident case been given to CBI, to suppress the facts?In a tragic 3-way accident, 2 passenger trains and a good train collided with each other near Bahanaga Railway Station in Balasore on June 02. The horrific accident claimed lives of at least 288 people and left over 1000 people injured.Mamata Banerjee said, “An accident took place between three trains at the same time. It is their (the Centre’s) job to investigate this. Every day, they (the Centre) are coming up with new details in this case. Is the investigation over now? Why has the case been given to CBI, to suppress the facts?”
