The inauguration of the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express is scheduled for May 18.
West Bengal is preparing to welcome its second Vande Bharat train, slated for inauguration on May 18. Following the inauguration, the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express will make its way to Howrah. This train holds special significance as it marks Odisha’s first introduction to the Vande Bharat series. Operating under the southeastern division of the railways, the Vande Bharat Express is anticipated to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as reported by sources.
Regarding the fare details, railway sources have not provided any updates on the IRCTC app. However, after the inauguration on Thursday, tickets can be purchased through the app or website. The chair car fare is expected to be set at Rs 1590, while the executive chair fare may be approximately Rs 2900.
With a high demand for travel between Kolkata and Digha, a popular destination, the introduction of the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express will be beneficial. Currently, the Shatabdi train is the only premium option available for this route.
During its journey from Howrah to Puri, the train will make stops at seven stations, including Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khurda Road.
